Who is responsible for protecting your Microsoft 365 data?
The misunderstanding falls between Microsoft’s perceived responsibility and the user’s actual responsibility of the protection and long-term retention of their Microsoft 365 data. The backup and recoverability that Microsoft provides and what users assume they are getting are often different. Meaning, that aside from the standard precautions Microsoft 365 has in place, you may need to re-assess the level of control you have of your data and how much access you truly have to it. Microsoft 365 offers geo-redundancy, which is often mistaken for backup. Backup takes place when a historical copy of data is made and then stored in another location. However, it is even more important that you have direct access to and control over that backup. So if data is lost, accidentally deleted or maliciously attacked, for example — you can quickly recover. Geo redundancy, on the other hand, protects against site or hardware failure, so if there is an infrastructure crash or outage, your users will remain productive and often oblivious to these underlying issues.
How does it work
Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 by Real World provides you with the added security and peace of mind that your Microsoft 365 Email, Sharepoint and OneDrive data is protected and accessible for a simple subscription price. By default, data is backed up for 30 days (subject to space restrictions). You can optionally extend this out to months, weeks or years. Real World connects our Veeam Backup infrastructure to your Microsoft 365 Accounts using our CloudConnect infrastructure. We then configure our systems to take a backup of your data every night. If you need to restore your data, our expert team are also available to help you with anything you need.

Microsoft 365 Backup Setup: $250 + GST
Includes setting up Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 in your tenancy. Setup requires you already have a Microsoft 365 tenancy created and available.
Plan 1: 1 – 10 Accounts: $73.80 per month + GST
Includes up to 500GB of e-mail, SharePoint and OneDrive data, with up to 30 days of retention
Plan 2: 11 – 20 Accounts: $147.60 per month + GST
