Colocation
Rack space in our own Australian datacentres — bring your own kit, ride on a real carrier underneath.
Colocation is the right answer when you want to own the compute, the storage and the network gear yourself — and you want the carrier connectivity underneath to be a real, Australian, carrier-grade network rather than a hyperscaler abstraction. The site you pick usually comes down to where the workload needs to live: latency to your users, sovereignty requirements, DR pairing with another of your sites, or proximity to a particular customer base.
Who colocates with us
- Businesses bringing their own compute — they want to own the kit, with carrier-grade connectivity and an Australian-operated datacentre underneath.
- Enterprises with hybrid setups — some workloads on-prem, some in cloud, some in our datacentre for backup or DR.
- ISPs and content providers — using our datacentres as PoPs, with IP Transit and peering.
- Organisations with sovereignty requirements — public sector, education and regulated industries where the data has to stay in an Australian datacentre run by an Australian company.
- DR-paired setups — primary in one of our datacentres, DR in another, for genuine geographic diversity.
How this differs from our managed infrastructure
Colocation is rack space for your own kit. Our Datacentre & Infrastructure product is managed infrastructure as a service — we provide the compute and storage, you consume it. The two are complementary: many customers run both, with owned kit colocated alongside managed services on our fabric.
What's included
- Rack space at every DC we operate from — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Darwin and Perth
- Dual-feed power as standard
- Interconnect to our RWTS-operated core network included
- Cross-connects to other operators in the same facilities available
- Remote hands available — cable runs, hardware swaps, on-site troubleshooting
- Direct path to our Business Ethernet, IP Transit and Private Networks products
- Megaport, IAA and Equinix interconnect available for cloud-direct and DC-direct customers
- National-only footprint — every site is in Australia, operated by us
Why it matters
Bring your own kit, ride on a real carrier
Colocation is the right answer when you want to own the compute, the storage, the network gear — and you want the carrier connectivity underneath to be a real one rather than a hyperscaler abstraction. We provide the rack, the power, the network interconnect; you bring the rest.
Seven Australian cities
We operate from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Darwin and Perth — every facility is in Australia. That gives you genuine geographic diversity for DR design, and physical proximity to your customers wherever they are nationally.
Interconnect to our network as standard
Every colocation cabinet has interconnect to our network included. That means cross-connect to our IP Transit (AS45437, operated by RWTS), our Business Ethernet, our Private Networks and our backup destination — without buying separate cross-connects through the DC operator. It's our DC presence, our network, all in one relationship.
Remote hands when you need them
Power-cycle a stuck appliance, swap a failed drive, run a console cable, witness a hardware delivery, escort a vendor engineer. Remote hands is available across the footprint at the rate the work calls for — much cheaper than flying someone to Darwin.
